What I Learned From My Blogging Hiatus

Sorry I have been gone so long. Life has been busy, I sure the same with all of you.  I needed to step back and focus on the message I wanted to send through my blog. My blogging hiatus taught me that there was no clear definition of what my purpose was for this blog. I decided to re-launch with better posts, better ideas, and better….everything! I have learned a lot from my blogging hiatus and I wanted to share with you what I have been up to.

Budgeting Software Reviews

Although I was gone for a while, I was still working in the background.  I have been trying new budgeting software to help make our financial lives easier. Many of you have asked about various budgeting software out there and for the past few months I have been trying them all…well most of them. I have found a few that is worth talking about and I think would be very beneficial to your family for financial management.

Emergency Funds are a Necessity

During my blogging hiatus, we had a death in the family. Death and funerals are a sad occasion and out-of-state funerals can be expensive to attend. Having an emergency fund gave us time to grieve and spend with family with worrying about finances. The funeral was a 6 hour drive away, 3 nights in a hotel, plus fuel and food for 3 people. Although I was not thinking about it at the time, I was thankful for our emergency fund. We were able to focus on family, not money.

I Really Missed You All

There hasn’t been a day that I thought about writing a quick post to let you know that I have not completely disappeared. Thank you for submitting your financial questions! I already have some future posts in the works to talk more about the topics that are interesting to you including more organizational tips, getting out of debt, and reducing medical bills. If you have any more financial questions or suggestions, submit them through the “I’m Listening” page. I will get back to you with an answer.

It’s great to be back! I cannot wait to continue this journey of faith, family, finances, and future. Keep an eye out for website changes, fun financial challenges, and monthly focuses.

November is the month of Thanks. Many of us have many things to be thankful for. I am definitely thankful to be back from my blogging hiatus!

Psalm 20:4 – May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
